Essex House opened its doors in December 2015, providing a classy new venue for dining, drinks and dancing. Scott explains: ‘It’s going to be full on glitz and glamour but, above all, it’s going to be about a warm welcome.’

‘We envisage being the go-to place for the neighbourhood whether you’re dropping in for a post-gym shake and a chat, lunching with friends, getting your live sport fix at the weekend or kicking back with a cocktail and some excellent music on Friday and Saturday nights.’

Front of house will be bright and airy with the feel of a chic, sophisticated bar, while the rear will have a more clubby vibe with DJ decks, private booths and a dance floor. Wayne and Scott’s contacts guarantee there will be some fantastic DJs dropping by.

Between them, Scott and Wayne have welcomed a host of high profile names to their existing venues, so don’t be surprised to see a few well known faces at Essex House.

The restaurant will open from noon to 8pm daily with a menu, designed by Scott, Wayne and development chef Lawrence Ager, focused on healthy indulgence.

‘The sheer size of Essex House means we can offer different things to different people, even at the same time,’ Wayne says. ‘Saturday and Sunday afternoons will see ladies lunching in the front bar area while the guys enjoy live sport on big screens at the back. It’s about being a neighbourhood venue that appeals to all sections of the community.’

Scott’s Club 195 is already established as the destination venue in Epping, while Wayne launched the hugely successful Linekers bars and owns Ibiza’s lavish Ocean Beach Club. They are now combining their experience to bring something new and innovative to Essex.

Wayne says: ‘We’ve learned from our mistakes and bring all that education to Essex House. We want to bring a breath of fresh air, create a buzz and boost business for everyone in the community.’

Scott says he and Wayne have often discussed a joint venture but were just waiting for the right project to come along. ‘It had to be something really special,’ he says, ‘and in Essex House we’ve found it.’

Wayne adds: ‘When Scott approached me with the concept I felt passionate about the idea. The fact I’m working with a friend sealed the deal for me.’

The dynamic duo have worked hard on Essex House, taking their unique vision of a chic ‘chameleon’ bar that offers something for everyone, and making it a reality. When will they take their foot off the gas and enjoy a celebratory drink? ‘On the opening night,’ Wayne says. ‘If the bar opens at 8pm, we’ll be there by 8.05pm at the latest. We’re both serious businessmen, but we’re also lethal on the party scene.’
