Nicky Sion, an instructor and personal trainer at Repose Studio believes fitness is for life not just for those special occasions, and tells us why Power Plate is the answer!
Who are you?
I’m Nicky Sion, instructor and personal trainer at Repose in Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill. It is the only dedicated Power Plate studio in West Essex.
Why do you do what you do?
Hearing a client say that her jeans fit again or another say that she feels confident enough to wear a bikini on holiday. That’s the only motivation I need to keep doing what I love.
Can you share your fitness regime?
If I’m not training with clients, you’ll still find me at Repose on my day off, training on the plate or in our boutique style gym. I am also passionate about good nutrition and I have been committed to a clean, balanced diet for the last four years.
Why should fitness be for life?
We only have one life. Making fitness a part of your mind set can only have a positive influence on every aspect of your life; whether it is your health, mind, body, relationships or career.
What is Repose?
At Repose we are a boutique fitness studio offering a range of instructor led Power Plate classes suitable for every age and ability. There is no other exercise that offers so many benefits in just a 25 minute workout.
What are the benefits?
The Power Plate’s revolutionary technology forces your muscles to contract over 30 times a second, helping you tone much quicker. Not only does it aid weight loss, reduce body fat, it also passively works all the muscle groups in the body, increasing circulation, improving circulation and lymphatic drainage and reducing the appearance of cellulite. What sets Power Plate apart from other exercise is how quickly you notice results!
Why should people introduce Repose into their fitness regime?
One of the most common reasons I hear for not exercising is lack of time. Just 25 minutes on the Power Plate is equivalent to working out at the gym for over an hour, showing incredible results in just a few sessions.
How do you keep your clients focussed on their goals during winter?
The cold and dark of winter can be a real motivation killer but it’s important to remember that even though our bodies are not on show as much, how we feel on the inside is just as important as how we look on the outside.
Do you have a signature style when training your clients?
No, because one size does not fit all. Each client has their own goals and requires a different approach. Whether I am training a group class or a one-to-one, I ensure everyone gets individual attention.
Why is keeping fit so important to you?
A great workout is important for both mind and body. Such a cliché. but so true.
What’s next for you at Repose?
2017 is going to be a busy year! Continuing to do what I love at Repose, focusing on personal training and also becoming qualified in nutritional therapy.
