WEL catches up with pilates instructor Sandra Bickmore to discuss her fitness regime and more
Who are you?
I am Sandra Bickmore whose aim in life is to share my knowledge of Pilates and mindfulness. I have been teaching for more than 20 years and I love to share my passion.
Why do you do what you do?
I believe that everybody wants to feel good about themselves and it is never too late to start getting fit. At CoreFit Pilates studio there are so many different techniques covering Pilates, it is my passion and so are my clients. I absolutely love seeing the results and benefits when my clients leave feeling happy, energised and revitalised.
Can you share your fitness regime?
Pilates keeps me fit and my passion is all I need to keep me in shape. I teach my Booty Barre class five times week where I fully participate with the class. I am on the Pilates Reformers every day and I always work out with my one to one clients, which really challenges them. I choose a different client each day, which keeps the repertoire interesting and the two workouts compliment each other hugely, plus I swim and cycle for my cardio too.
What is Corefit Pilates?
CoreFit Pilates is a family business based in a lovely boutique studio in Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill. With small personal classes we pride ourselves on making every body feel special and aim to keep fitness fun.
What are the benefits?
Back pain, changes your shape, inch loss, flexibility, amazing abs, mind and body awareness and boosts your brain power, the list really does go on. CoreFit and Pilates will be your passion as there are so many fantastic benefits.
What is your biggest achievement in your career to date?
I turned my passion into a business. However, my biggest achievement was bringing my son, Rhys Maxwell into the business to allow it to grow. He is a fantastic compliment to the studio and teaches a fantastic Reformer Pilates class so guys have no excuse! I would really like to see more men feeling the benefits of Pilates, it has benefits for everyone!
How would you encourage WEL readers to try Corefit Pilates?
You will definitely want to fit CoreFit Pilates into your fitness timetable after you see and feel the results. We have a special offer of £35 for 30 days to allow you to experience and try all of the classes. The studio is really friendly with a great bunch of like minded people who make everybody feel welcome; the focus is on you as an individual as well as being in the group.
