New year, new me. This age-old mantra is way past its sell-by date and so overused it comes fully loaded with an exaggerated eye roll and sarcastic grin. 4. Why not give back this year by contributing to a charity? Remember, helping others doesn’t have to cost the earth. A small donation goes a very long way, but your time can go even further. Radio 1 and 1Xtra have recently launched a campaign to encourage young people all over the nation to collaboratively contribute 1million hours to Barnardos, Age UK, Cancer Research and Oxfam. From helping out in a local charity shop to visiting the elderly, this scheme highlights the many benefits of volunteering and is a great way to educate children.
