Danny Hakimi, director of Imperial Building Solutions, a specialists property refurbishment in South Woodford shares with WEL his passion for his business and growing it to new heights, always being happy and travelling around South America

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Danny Hakimi, director of Imperial Building Solutions, a specialists property refurbishment.

Where do you live?

I grew up in Gants Hill, but I am now living in Dalston with a couple of friends.

What do you love about your job?

It is very rewarding being responsible for transforming a property into a clients dream home. I also really enjoy the aspect of working closely with designers and architects and giving some creative input.

What is the worst part of your job?

If anything it would be when there are delays with products from third party suppliers.

What is the secret of your success?

I guess it is just being honest and upfront with people, steering away from the typical builder stereotype. I also have a great team of workmen, which means that the quality of the work speaks for itself, and is what usually leads to referrals and repeat business.

What has been the proudest moment in your career so far?

It has to be setting up Imperial Building Solutions with my business partner Steve in 2014. It has already built up some excellent working relationships in a very short space of time.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

I would like to see the company going from strength to strength and developing the great reputation that we have already started to build.

How do you relax?

I really enjoy spending time with friends and family, watching films and listening to music.

What would your alternative career be?

It would have been something in the media, however I fell into property when I left school and that has led to where I am now.

When were you the happiest?

I am always happy.

How do you like to keep fit?

I have always played a lot of football, and I go through phases of enjoying running and going to the gym.

What is your next ambition for 2016?

To always improve the continued growth of the company and turning it into a recognisable name in the home design world. We are also looking to branch into commercial projects too.

Where do you go for a guy’s night out?

Usually just to a nice pub in West Essex or a bar in east London.

What’s your drink of choice after a hard day?

Depending how hard the day has been-either beer, red wine or tequila.

What is top on your bucket list?

I would like to travel to more places, especially to a few countries in South America and to go on safari at some point.
