Community spirit was alive and kicking in Buckhurst Hill celebrating HRH Queen Elizabeth’s 90th Birthday on the aptly named Queens Road. Months of planning by the Buckhurst Hill Village Forum finally saw the street festival kick off with a procession of the Queen and her subjects. Also the opening of the fun zone, featuring stalls, food and drink, children’s entertainers and oversize carnival games. Glenys Reynolds, chairman of the BHVF, said: ‘To see traders and residents come together so brilliantly to pull off something like this is just what makes Buckhurst Hill a great community.
She adds: ‘I would like to thank A1 Cleaning, Haslers, Believe-In Boutique, The Tooley & Foster Partnership, Churchills, Repose Studio, The Holly, Buckhurst Hill Parish Council, Residents Society & Forum for their sponsorship for the event.’
