Enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake for a donation of £1 in aid of the Stroke Association
A 'Make May Purple' event, in support of the Stroke Association, will take place from 10am-2pm on Friday, May 3 at the Improve Your Smile Dental Practice in Woodford Green. The practice can be found at 162 High Road in Woodford Green.
Bring along a friend and enjoy a free cuppa and a slice of delicious cake for a donation of £1 in support of the Stroke Association at Improve Your Smile Dental Practice. Several generous local businesses have donated prizes for the raffle; tickets are just £1 each. All money raised will go to the Stroke Association. Chloe Meadows from TOWIE will be drawing the winning tickets. Plus there will be live music from Maureen Tarler singing songs from West End Musicals and some timeless classics.
The staff at Improve Your Smile are keen for people to realise that a stroke can happen to anyone, and this coffee morning will provide an opportunity to gain some valuable tips on how to recognise a stroke – and how to reduce the chances of your having one yourself. There will be free blood pressure checks for anyone who would like one.
Incidentally, there are links between oral health and stroke. Gum disease sufferers are nearly twice as likely to suffer from coronary heart disease too. In recent studies, oral infection has been identified as a risk factor for stroke – yet another reason to make sure you look after your teeth and gums.
