Pivaz in Epping is a new mouth-watering independent Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of its high street - WEL finds out more
Pivaz, a family run business is an innovative fine dining experience, which serves delicious fresh, healthy food to your plate. The luxurious restaurant makes it more than a tantalising occasion for yourself and dining guests to enjoy a fabulous meal.
Whether you are ladies who lunch, celebrating a special event with loved ones or looking for somewhere to host a private business meeting, Pivaz can cater to all those needs. Sophie Ellis, pr manager at Pivaz believes the eclectic interior provides the perfect ambiance for any guest. She says: ‘We designed it with the idea to have separate dining areas which feature styles from throughout the world, so our guests feel like they’re eating in different restaurants yet with the same vision and cuisines.
From our French style ‘Gold Room’, our Late Baroque themed alcove with a Turkish influence, to those who want a private dining experience in our plush red velvet VIP booth. We also have the beautiful, modern ‘Blue Room’ and the comfortable tables for two by the bar area. An eclectic mix of architectural trends suitable for any occasion.
Sophie believes Pivaz is the missing niche in the high street and is proud of what the fine dining restaurant has achieved so far. She says: ‘I feel people will enjoy our food because our ingredients are freshly sourced, authentically spiced, and blended into our traditional recipes that will evoke the rich heritage of Turkey combined with a Mediterranean twist. Our aim is to bring the very best traditions of the Mediterranean to your table.
‘Everyone who works here has a wide range of experience in the food and catering industry, including all of our head chefs (with over 15 years experience) who have come over from Turkey to work here with us at our second Pivaz home. Their emphasis is always on the food and finding ways to make it that extra bit special for our guests.’
The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes to cater to all palettes, from baba ganoush to spicy stir-fried octopus to mains of grilled stone bass fillet and kleftiko. However, it still keeps the firm favourites of chicken and lamb shish on its menu.
Nevertheless, there is more than just tasty food that makes Pivaz a cut above the rest. Recently introducing its own mixologist, Giovanni Carta, who boasts more than nine years experience in creating delicious cocktails, makes it difficult for any guest to resist. Sophie says: ‘The cocktails have proven to be very popular with our diners, I would highly recommend for you to visit us for a cocktail or two at our fully-stocked late night bar, or start your dinner early with an aperitif before your meal.’
She adds: ‘Nevertheless, if a cocktail is not your choice of drink, we offer an array of wines to compliment your palette too.’
It is evident Pivaz is working with the locals and visitors a far. However, for those who haven’t caught on just yet, it is only a matter of time. She says: ‘We are really happy with the response so far. So in the name of Pivaz, which translates to ‘onion’ in Turkish, come along and peel back the layers of flavours!’
