Education news from around the county
For the second year running, the Snaresbrook Prep Parents Association (SPPA) have funded a whole school day out for the children at Snaresbrook to learn and enjoy fun activities with their friends at various places. The SPPA raised over £2,500 through charity days, competitions and other fund raising events, so that each year group could have a fantastic educational visit to some brilliant places that we wouldn’t normally have the opportunity of going to.
Year 1 and 2 were extremely excited to be visiting Kidzania in Shepherd’s Bush Westfield, where they had the chance to earn ‘kidzos’ (money) and learn new social, emotional and academic skills in role play scenarios.
Years 5 and 6 went to Shakespeare’s Globe theatre and it was a great day for all. Mrs Williams (Year 5 and 6 teacher) says: ‘We had a tour round the playhouse, took part in a workshop on The Tempest and watched a stage fight demonstration. Then we spent an hour in Tate Modern looking at some inspiring works of art.
‘We got caught in the heaviest rainstorm imaginable right in the middle of the Millennium Bridge and had to travel home completely soaked, which was quite exciting!’
Snaresbrook Prep would like to thank the PA for all of the funding for the children’s trip. Everyone had a wonderful day out, made some fantastic memories and learned lots of key skills.
