Queens Rooms - Fatush Salad

It is Arabic by origin, Sevi the owner says she came across the recipe in one of her hundreds of cooking books by chance and debated putting it on the menu, but she is glad she did as it is her client’s most favoured dish. This salad is alive with taste, goodness and variety. There is a bulk to this salad that will fill me up for the rest of the day. Lettuce, chunks of cucumber, tomato, olives, peppers and the delicious taste of grilled halloumi cheese, crushed toasted pitta bread, covered with a lovely olive oil, lemon, garlic & clove dressing. I absolutely love this salad.

Catch Fish Restaurant - Prawn Salad with Chilli and Honey Dressing

I love sitting by the open windows in Catch with a soda water and lime and Catch’s most popular dish The Prawn Salad. With the recently changed menu to include lighter lunch time options, it’s the best way to spend a Friday lunch time. I feel like I am on holiday and it’s a perfect start to my weekend. The prawns are always fresh, they are pan-fried and added to a mixed of baby leaf lettuce and cherry tomatoes keeping the dish simple and really fresh tasting. The pan is then deglazed and lime, chilli and a dash of honey is drizzled over the top. This is a really low calorie, very tasty lunch in a brilliant setting - you have to taste it to believe it!

Il Baccio Chichetti - Tuna Salad

With the inspiration taken from Sicily, the warm reception at Chichetti and Mediterranean flavours it’s hard not to love this salad. I honestly dream about eating it and genuinely have it at least twice a week. The salad is light and delicious, made up of tuna, boiled egg, avocado, red Onion, tomato, mixed salad and topped off with a balsamic reduction and olive oil dressing it’s simple, nutritious and made with love. Best served with a glass of Vermentino from Sardinia, but that’s only for very special occasions for me!
