Tammy Qureshi from performance coaching company, JQED, reveals all about why laziness, love and larking around with celebrities are part of her normal life
Who are you and what do you do?
Im Tammy Qureshi and I own and manage the performance coaching company, JQED.
Where do you live and why?
I currently live in Loughton. Having lived in the area for six years I was always attracted to the location being so near to London. You are close enough to feel like youre part of the city, but you can still see trees.
Are you a lady who lunches? If so, where do you go?
I do love a good lunch. I dont seem to have time as much as I would like, but when Im after a quick bite with my hubby we tend to head for Caf Rouge. When the girls get involved the wine and gossip flows at the King William in Chigwell.
Which is your favourite local boutique?
It has to be Zee and Co in Loughton. Sonia and Jules are always pointing my husband, Jamil, in the right direction. I often manage (conveniently) to find suitable candidates for my ever-expanding sunglasses collection.
Which is your favourite local restaurant and why?
Smiths in Chipping Ongar. Not only does it serve tasty fish dishes, but the ambience is chic. If it was down the high street or I would be there all the time.
Where do you go for a girly night out? A night always starts at my house. Then it moves on to NU BAR. Adam is a fantastic host and it is always hard to leave, which is dangerous when there are early starts to be made the next day.
What is the most valued possession in your handbag?
I am partial to a fabulous handbag. Other than my trusty eight-hour cream, nothing is more valued than the handbag itself.
West Essex as a whole has really moved up and moved on
Do you have a favourite hair salon?
I always go to Toni and Guy in Loughton. Hayley is the best. I definitely cant give it the same look as she does.
What is the best thing to happen to West Essex in the last five years?
I think West Essex as a whole has really moved up and moved on with the times. The rise of restaurants and bars that rival any on the London scene has definitely added to its appeal.
What are your favourite shoes?
It totally depends on the place. Much like my bag fetish this spills over to shoes. I love wearing my Jimmy Choo and Louboutin heels for any occasion. But you cant beat cosy UGGs for a wander down the high street.
Are you a WEG with wheels and what are you driving at the moment?
I am ashamed to admit that I am totally lazy and drive my black Volkswagen Beetle convertible anywhere.
Personal trainer or gym?
Having already confessed to my laziness, personal trainer every time.
What are you listening to on your iPod?
Much to my husbands dismay I am partial to Take That (dance moves only when alone).
Do you have a claim to fame?
We work with many famous faces but as glamorous as that sounds you can always count on me to keep it real. I have been known to burn frozen pizza for a very famous footballer. But aside from indulging in the occasional dance off with professional cricketers, it is all part of our normal life.
What luxury could you not do without?
Love; so many of us take love for granted. I never knew its true value until later on in my life. Because I value it so highly I see it as a luxury item. Oh, and posh hotels.
