An Auction has raised £37,000 for St Clare Hospice to launch the charity's celebrations of 20 Years of Care for people in West Essex.

An Auction has raised 37,000 for St Clare Hospice to launch the charitys celebrations of 20 Years of Care for people in West Essex. The Scarlet Auction took place in February at Theydon Bois Village Hall and realised the vision of local resident Steve Midgley.
Steves idea was to raise 30,000 to secure funding for one week of palliative care for the hospice which needs to raise 1.5 million each year in order to continue its valuable work, caring for and supporting local people with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses. The event came together in under two months with 55 items donated to the auction and raised well in excess of the original target.
