Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Amy-Beth Ellice, I am 18-years old and I am Britain’s youngest cookery writer. My first cookbook Amy’s Baking Year was published when I was 16-years-old and is available to buy nationwide. I am now working on my next book which combines both treats for the weekend and special occasions with healthy weekday meals.

Where do you live and what do you like about it?

I live in a small village near Epping. I like living here because I am able to go to local farm shops to buy ingredients and produce.

Tell us about your family?

My Mum Gillian is who started to teach me to cook and bake from the age of three. She is also a talented home cook and used to be an interior designer. My dad Martin works in media but also has a passion for tennis. My older sister Lara, who is 22, studied history or Art at the University of East Anglia and is now going on to do a masters in October at the Courtauld Institute of Art.

What is the most exciting thing that has happened to you recently?

I went to Venice last month which was so exciting. I love to travel and really enjoyed sampling and eating traditional Venetian food.

Can you share your goals for 2016?

This year once I have finished school in the summer I am going to start writing my next book. I would also love to be on television cooking my recipes as this has been a dream of mine since I was little.

Who are your biggest influences?

I am a huge fan of American TV cook Ina Garten and have been watching her cook on television since I was little. I also admire Nigella Lawson and I was lucky enough to meet her at a recent talk of hers. I also admire chefs such as Raymond Blanc and Antonio Carluccio.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

In five years time I hope to be writing my third book and to have launched some of my products in shops and department stores. I would also love to have a shop and cookery school.

How do you relax?

I like to read cookbooks, interiors and home books and magazines to get inspiration as I also love interiors and entertaining. I also like to go out to different restaurants to get inspiration for my cooking and recipes. And of course I love to listen to music and cook.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to try new recipes and cook for my friends and family.

Do you have any other hobbies?

As well as cooking, I have been singing since the age of four and playing the harp since the age of 6. I also love art and design so like to incorporate this into my cooking and baking.

What makes you smile?

I love it when I see other people making my recipes. It’s lovely to know that I am inspiring other people of all ages to cook and bake.

Tell us something about you that may surprise us?

I am a classically trained singer and I also play the harp. I am hoping to apply to music colleges in London in the next few years to study Opera.
